Used for its original intent as a Jesuit-run church from 1900 to 1971, the church that is now the highlight of Sacred Heart Cultural Center is known for its elaborate interior and exterior architecture, featuring more than ninety brilliantly colored stained glass windows. Commonly used for a range of public and private events, the cultural center hosts choir concerts and Christmas-oriented events, as well as garden festivals, art displays and receptions. Available for rent for events such as weddings, banquets and fundraisers, the church is near downtown Augusta, and structures like the historic Meadow Garden home and The Boyhood Home of President Woodrow Wilson.
